The Students Welfare Subcommittee under the college looks after the social welfare of the students. The sub–committee was formed in 2016.

The students are made aware on the very first day in the college at the Orientation Programs regarding different scholarship facilities offered by State and Central Govt, Studentship facilities offered by Higher Education Department, GoWB and Book grant facilities that are offered by the college to the needy and meritorious students.

The students in majority apply under Aikashree Scholarships, Kanyasree Scholarships. SVMCM scholarships for non minority. Few students also apply under OASIS portal meant for SC, ST and OBC candidates . The students apply online with all required documents in the respective potal of the scholarships. However, the institute level verification of documents of the applicants is done by the nodal officers of the college. Separate faculty members are given the responsibilities to act as nodal officers for the three scholarships viz. Aikashree, Kanyasree and OASIS. After institute level verification the district and state level verification are also done and then only the final payment is made by the State Government Department to the respective bank accounts of the applicants declared during the application time.

A separate cell in the college also looks after the Credit Card scheme facilities of the students offered by the State Government. Mr. Abdul Matin, Asst. Professor of the Arabic Department and Dr. Kaushiki Mukherjee, Asst. Professor of Mathematics are in charge of this cell.
